Early Life

Growing up with a heart condition, I faced numerous challenges just to participate in sports. From my first rugby tackle to every snap in American football, I discovered that grit and determination are essential to overcoming any obstacle. Rugby taught me the importance of mental resilience and teamwork, showing me how to push through pain and exhaustion. Transitioning to American football introduced me to strategic thinking and the relentless drive necessary for success on the field. These experiences, combined with my personal health struggles, ignited a passion within me to embrace challenges!

The Spark Of Inspiration

After graduating from the University of Bath with a degree in Mathematics, I embarked on a global adventure with just a backpack. My journey took me from hiking through the jungles of Vietnam to working on an Australian farm, where I drove a million-dollar tractor. The most transformative experience, however, was meeting a cycle tourer in Myanmar. Inspired by their stories, I decided to travel by bike as well, which sparked my dream of cycling from Alaska to Argentina.

Preparing for the Journey

After returning to the UK from my travels around Asia and Australia, I joined JP Morgan to save for my next big adventure. For three consecutive years, I earned promotions and became an Operations VP at the age of 28. While my professional career was thriving, I was also rigorously preparing for my upcoming journey. I knew that turning this dream into reality would require pushing myself beyond my limits. The preparation was intense, both mentally and physically. I undertook a series of increasingly demanding challenges to build my endurance and resilience. These included cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats, completing the 4x4x48 running challenge, and cycling 330 kilometres around Dorset in 14.5 hours.

Alaska to Argentina

Finally, the day came to set off from Alaska. The journey that followed was a 32,000km testament to the power of grit and determination. I cycled through some of the most remote and rugged terrains, braving extreme weather conditions, navigating treacherous roads and even riding with one leg for over 900km! There were moments of sheer exhaustion, times when the goal seemed impossibly distant, but each obstacle taught me invaluable lessons about perseverance and the strength of the human spirit.

7/7 Continents

While cycling from Alaska to Argentina, I had the incredible opportunity to visit both the Galápagos Islands and Antarctica. These destinations had always been dreams of mine, and experiencing their extraordinary nature and landscapes still amazes me. Antarctica, in particular, was a transformative experience, and I knew I wanted to return the moment we left. This journey also marked a significant milestone for me, as it completed my goal of visiting all seven continents.

Looking Ahead

But my story doesn’t end there. The spirit of adventure and challenge continues to drive me. Since returning to the UK I have completed my first ultra-endurance cycling race, pedalling 500km in just 46 hours. I have also supported a friend hand biking over 1,000km in India. However, I am now preparing for my next ambitious endeavour: to become the first person to cycle across Antarctica. This upcoming journey, along with other planned challenges, promises to push the boundaries of endurance and human capability even further.
