My Cold Weather Training in Sweden

jamesbensonking

I recently returned from my cold-weather training course in Sweden with Jådåt Adventure. What an incredible 3 weeks it was!

It’s not often I’m lost for words, but I’m struggling to express just how transformative the training was. Toby Cowern and Sam Cox have created something truly special, with their connection to the local community and immense knowledge of the cold-weather space making it an empowering experience . I could go on gushing, but I think you get the picture — I absolutely love it.

On top of all the great training I received, the support they’ve provided towards my Antarctica expedition goals has been nothing short of amazing. To put it into perspective: I left for Sweden nervous and apprehensive about the course, and even my Antarctic goals. I left with confidence, empowerment, and a renewed sense of purpose. I now know exactly where I’m headed and how to get there.

The next steps for myself are securing funding for my cycling in Antarctica dreams and some further training. I'm hoping to get back out to Sweden with them before this season is over for some final testing. I'll also be reaching out to some key people and hopefully secure my first round of funding!
