Staying Motivated with Big Goals

One of the big things, that I love helping people with when I speak , is empowering them to achieve their goals. The number one reason I find people don’t reach their goals is losing motivation — especially with big goals! So, how do you stay motivated?

1 – Celebrate all wins

Whether you’ve just completed a huge chunk of work or made your first sale, celebrate the win. Embrace the positive energy celebration brings, and let it reinforce your efforts. It’s a reminder that you’re moving in the right direction.

2 – Visualise success

Visualisation is critical for many things, and staying motivated is one of them! Spending a few minutes each day visualising the end result, will help you see the success. I find it’s only a matter of time before that success will find you.

3 - Accountability

Share your goals with your community. Whether that’s close friends, family or someone you trust. Knowing someone else is in on your goal keeps you committed. It also offers you support within your community and for you to return the favour!

4 - Chunking

I love chunking and I have explained it before in more detail, but big goals can feel overwhelming. So split them up into manageable chunks. This way each chunk provides a sense of progress. And guess what? You then get easily defined celebration points once you complete a chunk!

5 – Purpose.

Revisit ‘the why’ behind your goal regularly, as it can do one of two things. Firstly, it can remind you of the purpose of the big goal, reigniting your motivation. Secondly, it can revel that the goal itself is lacking purpose and needs a bit of adjusting. This can explain the current lack of motivation but allows you the opportunity to tweak the goal to find true purpose again.

I love empowering others to achieve their goals through my talks! Let me know if you have any other tips for staying motivated for those big goals!
