"Was there ever a time you felt like quitting?"
This might be one of the most common questions I get asked about my 20,000 mile cycle journey from Alaska to Argentina. The honest answer is no. But Why?
I think one of the most crucial points for achieving your goals is flipping that switch in your mind.
From a maybe.
To a definitely.
A lot of people have goals and dreams but they hold themselves back because they either aren’t fully committed or don’t truly believe they can do it. You need both of these things in order to be successful.
That’s where flipping the switch comes in.
It shifts your mindset and removes indecision. You have now decided it will happen. As long as your goal has purpose. It will.
Now you can’t flip the switch for everything in life. You need to make sure you give the goal or dream the energy it needs. But once you do. Nothing can get in your way.
For example, even on the toughest days of my trip, whether that was
- Cycling in 45 degree heat
- Riding at 5,000m with altitude sickness
- or pushing my bike through intense Patagonian winds
because the switch had already been flipped!
Let me know in the comments which goal or dream you want to use this technique on!
